Position Summary As the IT Engineer - Network & Security for Ptmacareers in Denver, CO, you will own core network architecture and security controls across site connectivity, access paths, and monitoring. You will balance uptime goals with proactive defense, partnering with peers to roll out improvements, respond to incidents, and keep documentation accurate. This is an on-site full-time opportunity for an engineer who wants hands-on ownership of switches, firewalls, VPN paths, and the policies that protect them—without relying on remote or hybrid arrangements for day-to-day work. Key Responsibilities Plan, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless segments so traffic remains stable, segmented, and easy to troubleshoot. Configure and administer firewalls, VPNs, access-control lists, and related security tooling to enforce policy and limit exposure. Monitor network health and security events; investigate alerts, abnormal traffic, and outages through to clear resolution. Apply patches, firmware, and configuration hygiene that reduce risk while preserving service continuity. Support identity-aware access, remote-access patterns for others as needed, and least-privilege design across the environment. Document topologies, runbooks, change history, and security baselines so the team stays aligned and audits move smoothly. Partner with operations and other IT peers on projects such as capacity upgrades, new sites, or security-control rollouts. Participate in incident response for network and security issues, including containment steps and post-incident follow-up. Who We're Looking For Proven experience in an IT engineer, network engineer, or network security engineer capacity with production systems. Solid working knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, and common firewall or VPN platforms. Comfort applying security principles such as zoning, least privilege, encryption in transit, and continuous monitoring. Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, configuration, and performance symptoms under time pressure.
