International Student & Scholar Advisor

The University of Vermont is seeking a dedicated International Student & Scholar Advisor to join its Burlington campus and become a trusted guide for international students throughout their academic journey. About the Role

As an International Student & Scholar Advisor at the University of Vermont, you will accompany international students from the moment they are admitted, through every stage of their enrollment, and into their post-graduation work authorization period. You will be a steady, knowledgeable resource on immigration matters and how those requirements intersect with the broader student experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide international students through immigration regulations and help them understand how those rules affect other parts of their lives at UVM.
• Provide individualized advising from admission and enrollment all the way through approved post-graduate employment authorizations.
• Act as a primary point of contact for international students, answering questions and connecting them with the right resources.
• Coordinate with departments and offices across the Burlington campus, serving as a liaison between students and the wider university community.
• Develop and deliver programming and events designed to inform, welcome, and support the international student population.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of, or demonstrated ability to learn, U.S. immigration requirements affecting international students and scholars.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with a student-centered approach.
• Ability to manage advising relationships with discretion, empathy, and accuracy.
• Comfort collaborating across campus offices and coordinating programs and outreach.
