About the Role
This Intern - Social Work/Human Services - Summer 2024 position is designed for students working toward a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a closely related human services field. As an intern at Project Harmony Child Protection Center, you'll be embedded within our Advocacy and Intake teams, gaining real exposure to the daily work of protecting children and strengthening families across the Omaha, Douglas County community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Advocacy and Intake Departments with day-to-day casework and coordination tasks.
- Assist team members in serving children, youth, and families navigating difficult circumstances.
- Observe and contribute to processes connected to child welfare and child mental health services.
- Help maintain accurate records and follow established protocols for sensitive cases.
- Participate in learning opportunities that build practical, field-based social work skills.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a human services-related program.
- Genuine interest in child welfare, child mental health, and working alongside families.
- Compassion, discretion, and the maturity to handle confidential and emotionally complex situations.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities, with a willingness to learn.
- Able to commit to this full-time, on-site internship in Omaha, Douglas County for Summer 2024.
