Intake & Client Services Assistant

Meals on Wheels of RI is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Intake & Client Services Assistant in Providence, Providence County to be a welcoming first point of contact for the older adults and eligible community members we serve. This full-time, on-site role supports our mission of helping seniors stay nourished, independent, and connected.

About the Role

As an Intake & Client Services Assistant, you will guide new and existing clients through the enrollment process, gather essential information, and ensure each person receives the services that best fit their nutritional and personal needs. You will work closely with program staff to keep client records accurate and to make every interaction respectful and supportive.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming inquiries from prospective clients, families, and referral partners by phone, email, and in person.
• Complete client intakes, document eligibility details, and accurately maintain records in program systems.
• Coordinate with internal teams to schedule meal deliveries and connect clients to appropriate services.
• Provide clear, patient assistance to older adults navigating program enrollment.
• Help track client status changes and follow up to ensure continuity of care.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with genuine empathy for the senior population.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail when handling sensitive client information.
• Comfort working with computers, databases, and standard office software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a mission-driven, team environment.
