About the Role As an Inpatient Audit Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of inpatient medical records and clinical documentation. Working alongside clinical and compliance teams, you'll conduct thorough audits of patient records, identify discrepancies, and help drive improvements in documentation quality and billing accuracy across our healthcare partners. What You'll Do Review inpatient records for clinical documentation accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards Conduct systematic audits of billing and coding practices to identify areas of improvement Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations for remediation Collaborate with clinical staff, medical coders, and compliance teams to resolve documentation gaps Monitor trends in audit findings and contribute to process improvement initiatives Stay current with healthcare regulations and documentation best practices What We're Looking For Experience in healthcare audit, medical records review, clinical documentation, or a related compliance field Strong attention to detail and ability to review complex medical documentation accurately Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit projects Familiarity with healthcare regulations and documentation standards Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software platforms Professional certification such as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS is preferred but not required About Datavant Datavant powers the world's most critical health data collaborations.
