Support corporate governance work, including preparation of resolutions, policy updates, and orderly record-keeping. Monitor regulatory and compliance obligations relevant to ongoing operations and help implement effective internal controls. Identify legal and commercial risks early, recommend proportionate mitigation steps, and escalate sensitive issues appropriately. Partner with external counsel where specialized expertise is required, manage scopes of work, and keep matters commercial and efficient. Contribute to training, playbooks, and template improvements so non-legal colleagues can work faster with fewer bottlenecks. Support dispute avoidance and, when needed, coordinate responses to claims, investigations, or contentious correspondence. What We're Looking For Law degree and eligibility to practise as a lawyer in Ontario, including good standing (or clear path to good standing) with the Law Society of Ontario. Solid experience in commercial, corporate, or in-house legal work handling contracts, compliance, and general business counseling. Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex issues in plain language for non-lawyers. Sound judgment, organized work habits, and comfort managing competing priorities in a full-time, office-based setting in North York, ON. Collaborative mindset, professional discretion, and a proactive approach to solving problems before they escalate.
