HR Generalist

WoodmenLife, a leading fraternal benefit organization headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, is hiring a full-time HR Generalist to join its growing Human Resources team in Douglas County.

About the Role

As an HR Generalist at WoodmenLife, you will serve as a key contributor within the Total Rewards function, supporting the day-to-day administration and long-term operations of the company's compensation and benefits programs. This is an opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of HR disciplines—from hands-on transactional support to program-level initiatives—within a mission-driven organization that has served members for over a century.

What You'll Do

• Administer and maintain compensation and benefits programs in partnership with the Total Rewards team
• Process employee benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations with a high degree of accuracy
• Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to compensation, benefits eligibility, and plan provisions
• Support open enrollment planning and execution, including vendor coordination and employee communications
• Conduct audits of HR data and benefits records to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Assist with salary survey submissions, market benchmarking, and job evaluation processes
• Generate HR reports and dashboards to support workforce analytics and decision-making
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, and ACA

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience in an HR generalist or HR operations role, with exposure to compensation and/or benefits administration
• Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of HR compliance requirements and employment law fundamentals
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, service-oriented mindset
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or related HR certification is a plus
