Monroe County Consortium is hiring a full-time Head Start Program Support Aide Floater to provide flexible, day-to-day classroom and program assistance across its Head Start centers in the United States.
About the Role
As a Program Support Aide Floater, you will serve as a versatile member of the Head Start team, stepping in wherever support is needed most. This on-site role is based at the Head Start – Custer 2 location and involves moving between classrooms and program areas to keep early learning running smoothly. The position is full-time and is not a remote opportunity. The anticipated start date is in late August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Float between Head Start classrooms and program settings to fill staffing gaps as they arise.
- Assist teachers and aides with daily classroom routines, activities, and supervision of young children.
- Help prepare learning materials, set up activity areas, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Support meal times, transitions, rest periods, and other parts of the daily schedule.
- Reinforce program standards and contribute to the overall well-being and development of enrolled children.
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in early childhood education and supporting young learners.
- Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and assignments.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills when working alongside teaching staff and families.
- Patience, dependability, and a caring approach to working with children in a Head Start setting.
- Willingness to work on-site at the assigned Head Start – Custer 2 location.
