Head of Finance (Series A – B)

Why this role matters

Formance is a $21M Series A company backed by PayPal Ventures and top-tier investors, building the financial backend that powers the next generation of fintechs, banks, and digital platforms. Already partnering with Coinbase, Fireblocks, and leading financial platforms across the US and Europe.

We closed Q1 strong. We’re scaling fast across two continents, managing multi-entity operations in France and the US, and preparing for our next stage of growth. What we need now is someone who can build the financial infrastructure that makes all of that possible — and who wants to be in the room where it happens.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to manage a steady-state finance function. It’s for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, and who understands that at this stage, financial clarity is a competitive advantage.

What you’ll actually do

• Own the entire Finance function end-to-end — forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling, reporting, and close governance across our French and US entities. You’re not inheriting a machine; you’re building one.

• Lead the financial preparation for our next fundraising round — data room, investor reporting, scenario planning, due diligence. You’ll work directly with the CEO, board, and investors throughout.

• Partner with Sales, Product, and Operations to drive revenue strategy, pricing decisions, and capital efficiency. You’ll be the person leadership comes to when they need to understand what the numbers are really saying.

• Establish the Single Source of Truth for all financial KPIs, implement investor-grade reporting, and build the controls and processes that will carry us through our next stage of growth and beyond.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves:

• Proven track record participating in or leading a Series B fundraising round — you know what a clean data room looks like and how to handle investor scrutiny.

• 7+ years in Finance, including at least one role as Head of Finance, VP Finance, or CFO in a high-growth startup or scale-up.

• Highly analytical and operational — equally comfortable in a board presentation and a detailed financial model.

• Fluent in English and French. Based in Paris.

What will set you apart:

• Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency environments — FR + US is a strong plus.

• You’ve been the first Finance hire before. You know what it means to build from scratch without a template.
