What You'll Do Plan, organize, and conduct all practice sessions, emphasizing skill progression, strategy, and competitive readiness Lead the team through a full match schedule, including regular-season competition and postseason play Evaluate players during tryouts and manage roster decisions in alignment with school policy Scout opponents and prepare game-day strategy appropriate to the competition level Monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and communicate proactively with parents, teachers, and school administration Ensure full compliance with Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) rules and Zionsville Community Schools athletic guidelines Oversee the care, inventory, and proper use of team equipment and court facilities Foster a team environment built on sportsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement Coordinate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, budgeting, and program needs What We're Looking For Demonstrated experience playing or coaching tennis at the high school, collegiate, or club level Strong working knowledge of tennis fundamentals, match strategy, and player development techniques Ability to obtain a valid Indiana coaching license or lay coach permit as required by the state Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the season begins) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging student-athletes, families, and school staff Commitment to the academic success and overall well-being of every athlete on the roster Successful completion of a background check as required by Zionsville Community Schools About Zionsville Community Schools Zionsville Community Schools serves students in Zionsville, Indiana, with a long-standing commitment to academic excellence and a thriving athletics program.
