About the Role
As a Grower Supervisor at 80 Acres Farms, you'll oversee the cultivation of premium salads, herbs, microgreens, and salad kits within our climate-controlled vertical farm in Starr, Anderson County. This on-site position blends hands-on horticulture with team leadership, ensuring every crop meets our high standards for quality, freshness, and resource efficiency while operating independently of weather and seasonal limits.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily growing activities across seeding, transplanting, harvesting, and crop maintenance cycles.
- Lead, coach, and schedule grow team members to keep production running smoothly and safely.
- Monitor plant health, growth conditions, and environmental controls to maximize yield and quality.
- Maintain rigorous food-safety, sanitation, and quality-assurance practices throughout the facility.
- Support our sustainability goals by managing water, energy, and other resources responsibly.
- Document production data and partner with cross-functional teams to continuously improve results.
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial growing, controlled-environment agriculture, greenhouse, or vertical farming preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong understanding of plant care, crop cycles, and quality standards.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and cleanliness.
- Willingness to work on-site in Starr, Anderson County in a full-time capacity.
