Compassion International is seeking a Grant Financial Specialist II to join its finance team based in the United States. In this full-time role, you will serve as a trusted financial partner throughout the grant lifecycle, from initial budgeting through final closeout and audit preparation, ensuring both organizational and donor accountability. About This Position This Grant Financial Specialist II position oversees moderately complex financial stewardship for awards supported by donor funding. You will develop and monitor budgets, track expenditures against donor requirements, and produce accurate financial documentation. Your work strengthens financial controls across the organization and builds the capacity of finance teams managing government, multilateral, and institutional grants. The role is currently supported by grant funding approved through a one-year period. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Prepare donor-compliant financial reports and conduct budget variance analyses across assigned grants Work with project teams to forecast financial performance and monitor spending against projections Track and manage procurement of goods and equipment, ensuring proper documentation and disposition according to donor policies Support financial audits, including coordination with external auditors, Single Audits, and third-party reviews Provide guidance to program and field staff on donor-specific financial regulations and compliance expectations Partner with legal, compliance, and global program teams to strengthen financial governance in donor-funded initiatives Contribute to budget development for government and institutional donor-funded projects Coach less experienced team members on technical finance topics when needed What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline 2–3 years of professional experience in grant accounting, grant financial management, or donor-funded project oversight Demonstrated experience managing U.S. government grants; international grant exposure is valued Solid understanding of donor compliance requirements, financial reporting frameworks, budgeting methods, and audit processes Strong English communication abilities; proficiency in Spanish or French is advantageous Proven ability to work productively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams Commitment to supporting Compassion International's Christian mission and child protection standards Working at Compassion International Compassion International is a faith-based organization dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus's name.
