About the Role As a Wholesale IRB Consultant at True North Partners LLP, based in Germany, you will work hands-on with major financial institutions on the development and enhancement of wholesale IRB credit risk models. This full-time, on-site position spans our Manager and Senior Manager levels and sits at the intersection of quantitative modelling, regulation, and practical implementation. You will tackle complex, high-impact engagements where innovation in methodology genuinely matters. Key Responsibilities Lead and contribute to wholesale IRB credit risk model development, going well beyond audit or review work. Apply quantitative and analytical techniques to real-world banking risk problems. Advise clients on local and international financial services regulation, particularly within PRA and ECB supervisory frameworks. Support related areas such as ICAAP/ILAAP, risk appetite and limits, stress testing, capital management, recovery and resolution, strategic planning, and pricing where relevant. Take an active part in running and growing the firm, including business development, marketing, and management activities. Qualifications 5–10 years in management consulting for the financial services or banking sector, covering risk management, credit risk, or risk modelling. Demonstrable, hands-on experience developing wholesale IRB credit risk models — this is essential. Practical command of programming languages and data structures such as Python, SAS, R, and SQL. Solid understanding of relevant financial regulation, especially in a PRA/ECB supervisory context. Strong analytical ability backed by a quantitative foundation applied to banking risk. A master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, industrial engineering, economics, or physics. Clear problem-solving instincts, strong communication skills, and the ability to keep the bigger picture in view. Fluent English; German or Spanish is an advantage.
