About the Role
As the Gas Operations Supervisor at WM in Forest City, Winnebago County, you will report to the Area Gas Operations Manager (AGOM) and take ownership of the day-to-day performance of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS). The position blends technical field work with team leadership, ensuring that gas infrastructure is operated and maintained to high standards of safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and upkeep of landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) across the assigned site.
- Supervise, direct, and develop Gas Technician I and Gas Technician II team members in their daily tasks.
- Coordinate and manage outside contractors performing gas-related work.
- Maintain GCCS equipment in proper working condition to support consistent, compliant operations.
- Report to and partner with the Area Gas Operations Manager on operational priorities and performance.
Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of landfill gas collection and control systems or comparable mechanical and field operations experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct technicians and contractors in a hands-on environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, equipment maintenance, and operational compliance.
- Willingness to work full-time and on-site in Forest City, Winnebago County (relocation assistance provided).
