About the Role
This full-time Physical Therapist position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, resident-centered environment where your clinical expertise directly improves quality of life. You'll be part of a dedicated therapy team at our Fort Madison facility, working alongside nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans for residents based on their functional goals and medical history
- Conduct therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and gait training to improve mobility, strength, and balance
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment protocols as needed to achieve optimal outcomes
- Document patient evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, holistic resident care
- Communicate with residents and families about therapy goals and progress
- Maintain equipment and ensure a safe therapeutic environment
What We're Looking For
- Active physical therapy license in the state of Iowa
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Experience or interest in geriatric care preferred
- Ability to work effectively within a team-based care model
- Genuine passion for improving resident independence and quality of life
