Foreman – Underground Utilities

Kinkaid Civil Construction is hiring a full-time Foreman – Underground Utilities to lead field crews on heavy civil infrastructure projects in Mesa, Maricopa County. About the Role

As the Underground Utilities Foreman, you'll direct day-to-day field operations on water, sewer, storm drain, and related underground utility work across the greater Mesa area. You'll be the boots-on-the-ground leader responsible for keeping crews productive, safe, and aligned with project plans — working alongside a company that self-performs its own concrete, underground, and roadway/grading scopes.

What You'll Do

• Direct and coordinate underground utility crew members on active job sites in Maricopa County
• Read and interpret civil construction drawings, grading plans, and utility as-builts to guide daily work
• Enforce jobsite safety standards including trench safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and company policies
• Monitor production, schedule crew tasks, and adjust priorities to meet project milestones
• Communicate daily with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors to keep work on track
• Oversee proper installation of pipe, conduit, manholes, and appurtenances to specification
• Track material usage and coordinate deliveries to minimize downtime
• Maintain quality control and ensure all work meets or exceeds project standards
• Document daily field activity, crew hours, and any site conditions affecting progress

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a foreman or crew lead on underground utility or heavy civil construction projects
• Hands-on knowledge of water, sewer, and storm drain installation methods and materials
• Ability to read and work from civil plans, utility drawings, and grade sheets
• Solid understanding of trench safety, shoring requirements, and OSHA standards
• Strong leadership skills — able to direct a crew, hold accountability, and resolve field problems quickly
• Valid driver's license; reliable transportation to Mesa-area job sites
• Physical ability to work outdoors in Arizona's climate across varied terrain and conditions
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
