Johnson Controls is hiring a full-time Fire Sprinkler Installer to join our field operations across the US, building and installing life-safety fire suppression systems that protect people, property, and critical facilities.
About the Role
As a Fire Sprinkler Installer at Johnson Controls, you will work hands-on at customer sites throughout the US, assembling and mounting fire sprinkler piping and components according to engineered drawings and code requirements. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a detail-driven tradesperson who takes pride in delivering installations that keep buildings safe and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, fit, and secure fire sprinkler piping, fittings, hangers, and suppression equipment on commercial and industrial projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to position systems accurately.
- Cut, thread, groove, and join pipe using the appropriate tools and methods.
- Follow NFPA standards, local fire codes, and company safety procedures on every job site.
- Coordinate with project leads, inspectors, and other trades to keep installations on schedule.
- Conduct functional checks and assist with testing to confirm systems operate as designed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience installing fire sprinkler or related mechanical piping systems is preferred.
- Ability to read construction drawings and interpret installation specifications.
- Comfort with the physical demands of field work, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
- Familiarity with fire protection codes and jobsite safety practices.
- A valid driver's license and reliable, dependable work habits.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
