Financial Consultant

The McLean Group is hiring a Financial Consultant in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, to join our Financial Consulting practice and shape the outcome of middle-market deals through rigorous, insight-driven analysis.

About the Role

As a Financial Consultant with The McLean Group, you will lead Quality of Earnings (QofE) and financial due diligence engagements that support buyers and sellers throughout the transaction lifecycle. Partnering with our practice leader and collaborating across functions, you will translate complex financial data into clear, actionable guidance on earnings quality, financial health, deal risks, and the underlying drivers of value. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in New Orleans for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys high-stakes, fast-moving work.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Quality of Earnings (QofE) reviews and end-to-end financial due diligence for middle-market transactions.
• Assess the sustainability and quality of a target company's earnings, identifying normalizing adjustments and one-time items.
• Evaluate financial health, working capital trends, and potential transaction risks to inform deal decisions.
• Pinpoint and articulate the key value drivers that influence purchase price and negotiation strategy.
• Deliver concise, actionable findings to buy-side and sell-side clients in a clear, decision-ready format.
• Work directly with the practice leader and cross-functional teams to ensure engagements are accurate, thorough, and timely.

Qualifications

• A strong foundation in financial analysis, accounting principles, and the mechanics of QofE and due diligence work.
• Demonstrated experience supporting middle-market transactions or comparable financial consulting engagements.
• The analytical rigor to interrogate financial statements and distinguish sustainable earnings from noise.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to buyers, sellers, and senior stakeholders.
• A collaborative, deadline-driven mindset suited to a transaction-focused environment.
