About the Role

As a Field Engineer In Training based in Fair Oaks, Fairfax County, you will join PEG, LLC's field services team and develop the hands-on technical foundation needed to support home energy ratings and construction compliance work. This full-time position is designed for early-career professionals who want structured, on-the-job mentorship while contributing to real projects alongside experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and field assessments at residential construction projects under the guidance of senior staff.
• Assist with home energy rating evaluations and construction compliance verification.
• Collect, document, and report field data accurately for project records and client deliverables.
• Learn and apply energy efficiency testing procedures, building science principles, and applicable code requirements.
• Coordinate with homebuilder partners and PEG, LLC team members to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Interest in energy efficiency, engineering, environmental, or building science fields.
• Willingness to learn through field training and mentorship in an entry-level capacity.
• Strong attention to detail and reliable documentation habits.
• Ability to travel to and work at construction sites in and around Fair Oaks, Fairfax County.
