Family Advocate

Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership is hiring a full-time Family Advocate in Ord, Valley County, to walk alongside local families and help their children thrive within the Head Start program.

About the Role

As a Family Advocate based in Ord, Valley County, you will be the trusted point of contact who connects families to the people, programs, and resources they need to succeed. Guided by the Head Start Parent, Family, and Community Engagement Framework, you will nurture respectful, culturally responsive relationships while helping each household reach its goals and stay aligned with program standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and sustain supportive, trusting partnerships with enrolled families across all program standards.
• Support the growth and progress of children and parents in keeping with the Head Start engagement framework.
• Guide families toward community resources, services, and assistance that meet their individual needs.
• Ensure that family files, services, and activities comply with applicable state and federal requirements.
• Develop and maintain current knowledge of resources available throughout the local community.

Qualifications

• A genuine commitment to serving children and families with compassion and respect.
• Ability to engage diverse families in a culturally responsive and welcoming manner.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to learn and apply state and federal program standards and the Head Start engagement framework.
• Availability to work full-time on-site in Ord, Valley County.
