Novolex

Novolex is hiring a full-time Extrusion Operator Specialist at its manufacturing facility in Country Park Acres, Guilford County — a hands-on production role at one of North America's foremost packaging manufacturers.

About the Role

As an Extrusion Operator Specialist, you'll be central to converting raw resin and other substrate materials into finished packaging components that reach consumers across foodservice, grocery, food processing, and industrial markets. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring technical precision and a commitment to quality output on every shift.

What You'll Do

  • Set up, start, and operate extrusion lines to produce plastic film, tubing, or sheet to specification
  • Monitor and adjust process variables — melt temperature, screw speed, line speed, and die gap — to maintain consistent product dimensions and quality
  • Inspect finished product using gauges and measuring instruments, identifying and correcting deviations before they become defects
  • Perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance tasks, and minor troubleshooting to minimize downtime
  • Document production data, material usage, and quality readings accurately in shift logs
  • Execute material changes and size changeovers efficiently while minimizing waste
  • Follow all safety protocols, GMP guidelines, and company operating procedures throughout each shift
  • Collaborate with quality and maintenance teams to resolve process issues and support continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience operating extrusion, blown film, or cast film equipment in a plastics or packaging manufacturing environment
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and comfort reading process instruments, gauges, and control panels
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify off-spec product and adjust accordingly
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as required, and work in a production environment
  • Dependable attendance and willingness to work full-time shift schedules as needed
  • Team-oriented mindset with clear communication skills across production, quality, and maintenance functions
