About the Role
The Extended Care Supervisor is a full-time, on-site support staff and teacher assistant position serving St. Patrick School within the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. In this role, you will oversee small groups of students during early-morning care and afternoon care, ensuring each child is supervised, engaged, and well cared for throughout the program. This is a relationship-centered position ideal for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and supporting families through dependable extended-day coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise approximately 5–10 students during before-care sessions from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on school days.
- Lead and monitor roughly 15–20 students during after-care from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on school days.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming setting for children of varying ages and needs.
- Accommodate the adjusted school schedule on the second Wednesday of each month.
- Encourage positive behavior, age-appropriate activities, and respectful interaction among students.
Qualifications
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with and caring for school-age children.
- Reliability and the ability to be present consistently during scheduled morning and afternoon hours.
- Strong supervision, communication, and group-management abilities.
- Commitment to upholding the values and mission of a Catholic school community.
