About the Role
As an Equipment Technician/Compression Technician with Occidental Petroleum, you will be based on-site in Carlsbad, San Diego County, maintaining and servicing compression units and associated production equipment. This is a full-time, in-person position ideal for a mechanically skilled professional who values safety, precision, and dependable performance in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain natural gas compression units and related field equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and equipment reliability.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues and carry out timely corrective action.
- Monitor equipment performance and accurately document service, repairs, and operating data.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards during every task.
Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience servicing compression units, engines, or comparable rotating equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read schematics and diagnose faults independently.
- Commitment to working safely in an on-site oil and gas production environment.
- Willingness to work full-time on location in Carlsbad, San Diego County.
