The Opportunity This is a hands-on engineering role focused on transforming electrical system designs into operational reality at large-scale data centers. You'll lead the transition from engineering blueprints to commissioned, live infrastructure—taking responsibility for the complete journey from equipment installation through operational handover. Your work directly impacts the reliability and safety of facilities powering frontier AI workloads, where downtime is unacceptable. The team tackles the hard problems: closing gaps between design and site reality, turning lessons from one deployment into repeatable playbooks for the next, and ensuring every system you commission operates reliably from day one. Responsibilities Lead equipment testing, protective relay verification, and switchgear startup procedures during site commissioning Execute generator load testing and acceptance documentation workflows, managing the path to live energization and operational handover Respond to power events and equipment failures on operating sites, diagnose root causes, and implement durable fixes that prevent recurrence Navigate field conflicts between installation reality and electrical system specifications, with clear escalation and proposed resolutions Validate relay settings, UPS performance, and generator transfer logic against operational requirements and load profiles Develop commissioning checklists, energization procedures, and reliability documentation that raise standards across future deployments Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Hands-on experience commissioning electrical systems at data centers or mission-critical facilities, including responsibility through energization and live acceptance Ability to identify installation deviations, interpret relay configurations, and support fault diagnosis at the operational level on data center power infrastructure Proven collaboration with electrical contractors and third-party testing firms on active construction and commissioning sites Capacity to travel to deployment sites up to 50 percent of the time Bonus: Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit thereof; medium-voltage systems experience; switchgear or generator load bank commissioning; EPMS/DCIM software; CMMS platform familiarity; knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, and IEEE data center power standards Why Join Fluidstack Fluidstack is acquiring power and designing, building, and operating data centers at scale…
