Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational and behavioral assessments using validated instruments and observation techniques Develop clear, evidence-based diagnostic reports that inform individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education placements Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to interpret assessment results and recommend targeted interventions Evaluate student progress and adjust support strategies based on ongoing data and feedback Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education regulations and timelines Participate in eligibility meetings and provide professional consultation to school teams Stay current with best practices in assessment and special education law What We're Looking For Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician credential or eligibility for certification Master's degree in educational diagnostics, school psychology, or related field (or willingness to pursue one) Strong knowledge of psychometric assessment, cognitive development, and learning disabilities Excellent communication skills with students, families, and school staff from diverse backgrounds Ability to work independently and manage multiple evaluations while meeting tight timelines Proficiency with assessment software and data management systems Commitment to equitable, culturally responsive practice More About IDEA Public Schools IDEA Public Schools operates a network of charter schools across Texas dedicated to college readiness and student success.
