What You'll Do Design, implement, and continuously improve a system-wide special education program aligned with federal IDEA requirements and Massachusetts state regulations Oversee the development, implementation, and quality of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) across all district schools Supervise, mentor, and evaluate special education staff, including specialists, coordinators, and paraprofessionals Serve as the district's primary liaison with families, outside agencies, and community partners to ensure coordinated, student-centered support Manage the special education budget, including allocation of resources and oversight of out-of-district placements Lead professional development initiatives that strengthen inclusive practices throughout Ludlow Public Schools Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Chair and participate in Team meetings, resolution sessions, and mediation processes as needed What We're Looking For Massachusetts licensure as a Director/Supervisor of Special Education (or eligibility) Advanced degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field Demonstrated experience administering special education programs at the school or district level Deep knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Massachusetts special education law and procedural requirements Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with educators, families, and community stakeholders Strong skills in data analysis, program evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making Experience supervising and developing multidisciplinary special education teams About Ludlow Public Schools Ludlow Public Schools serves the students and families of Ludlow, a welcoming community in Hampden County in western Massachusetts.
