Director Of Development

UCP of Long Island is searching for a mission-driven Director of Development to lead fundraising and philanthropy in Hauppauge, Suffolk County, helping power our work for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

About the Role

As the Director of Development at UCP of Long Island, you will shape and drive the organization's revenue and donor strategy. Based on-site in Hauppauge, Suffolk County, this full-time leadership role is central to sustaining and expanding the programs that allow individuals and families across Long Island to pursue more independent, fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan spanning individual giving, major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and special events.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors, foundations, and community supporters.
• Lead and mentor the development team while setting measurable goals and tracking progress toward them.
• Partner with senior leadership and the board to align fundraising priorities with the agency's mission and programs.
• Oversee grant research, proposal writing, and reporting to ensure ongoing funding streams.
• Represent UCP of Long Island at community functions to raise visibility and strengthen public support.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or philanthropy, ideally in a leadership capacity.
• A track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets across multiple giving channels.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and donor-stewardship skills.
• Familiarity with grant processes and development databases.
• A genuine commitment to advancing independence and opportunity for people with disabilities.
