Walmart is hiring a full-time Director, Data Analytics – Global Marketplace based in Bentonville, Arkansas, to lead the analytics function powering one of the world's largest third-party seller ecosystems.

About the Role

Walmart's Global Marketplace connects millions of third-party sellers with shoppers across dozens of international markets. As the analytics leader for this business, you will own the data infrastructure, measurement frameworks, and reporting standards that keep the marketplace measurable, scalable, and trusted. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence, and strategic decision-making — sitting inside Walmart's Bentonville, Benton County headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute the data analytics strategy for Walmart's Global Marketplace, aligning analytical priorities with seller growth, customer experience, and operational efficiency goals.
  • Build and maintain the data infrastructure and reporting frameworks that surface marketplace health metrics, seller performance indicators, and customer insights.
  • Establish and enforce analytical standards, data governance practices, and metric definitions across cross-functional teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of data analysts and analytics engineers, fostering a culture of rigor, curiosity, and business impact.
  • Partner with product, engineering, finance, and international market teams to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Drive self-service analytics adoption by designing intuitive dashboards and enabling stakeholders to answer their own data questions confidently.
  • Own the roadmap for analytics tooling, pipeline improvements, and data quality initiatives across the Global Marketplace organization.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline, with a meaningful portion spent in a senior or director-level leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale analytics functions within large, complex, or multi-market organizations — marketplace or e-commerce experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong command of SQL and at least one analytical or data engineering language (Python, Scala, or equivalent); familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) and BI tools.
  • Experience designing data governance frameworks, defining KPIs, and driving adoption of consistent metrics across distributed teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders through data storytelling.
  • A systems thinker who can balance long-term data infrastructure investments with near-term business needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree a plus.
