GAAMHA is hiring a Direct Support Professional to join our Community-Based Enrichment Services program in Leominster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. This is a full-time position where you'll provide direct support to individuals throughout the region as part of a newly launched, innovative approach to day services.
About the Role
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with GAAMHA, you'll be at the heart of our mission to enhance quality of life and foster independence. Working within our new Community-Based Enrichment Services program, you'll help individuals access meaningful community experiences, develop skills, and work toward personal goals. This role offers the opportunity to build genuine relationships and make a tangible difference in someone's daily life.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct support with daily living activities and community-based enrichment opportunities
- Help individuals develop independence and work toward their personal and vocational goals
- Support participation in community activities, social events, and skill-building programs
- Build trusting relationships with the people you support and collaborate with their families
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to ensure coordinated, person-centered support
- Maintain accurate records and follow all program guidelines and compliance requirements
- Respond flexibly and compassionately to individual needs and changing circumstances
What We're Looking For
- Genuine commitment to supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and trust
- Reliability and strong attendance in a direct-service role
- Physical capacity to assist with mobility and personal care activities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow direction
- Openness to pursuing relevant training and certifications
- Valid driver's license preferred
