About the Role

As a Bone Densitometry Technologist within Geisinger's Diagnostic Radiology department, you will perform radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations and capture the imaging data that licensed practitioners rely on for accurate diagnosis. Working largely independently, you will administer ionizing radiation safely and acquire high-quality studies that support diagnostic, therapeutic, and research needs. This is a part-time position based on-site in Danville East, Montour County.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes in accordance with established protocols.
• Carry out a complete range of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including bone densitometry studies.
• Acquire, review, and analyze imaging data so that a licensed practitioner can render an accurate interpretation.
• Perform examinations at the direction of ordering providers while exercising sound independent judgment.
• Maintain patient comfort, safety, and radiation-protection standards throughout each procedure.

Qualifications

• Training and credentialing as a radiologic technologist, with the ability to perform bone densitometry examinations.
• Working knowledge of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and imaging techniques.
• Understanding of radiation safety practices and the responsible use of ionizing radiation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a clinical setting.
