Crowdstrike is hiring a Detection Engineer - Machine Learning to join our team in the United States. As a full-time member of our Data Science and Machine Learning Operations team, you'll enhance threat detection capabilities by investigating detections, analyzing malware behaviors, and improving our AI-powered security models. Position Summary You'll work with Technical Account Managers, incident response teams, and our Malware Research Center to investigate threat detections reported by customers and identify opportunities to strengthen our machine learning algorithms. This role combines reactive analysis of customer-reported threats with proactive improvement of detection systems, making it ideal for malware researchers and reverse engineers seeking to drive security impact at enterprise scale. Core Duties Review customer detection tickets and threat reports to assess malware behavior and detection accuracy Analyze detection data to identify machine learning model improvements and optimization opportunities Perform binary file analysis to evaluate threat legitimacy and technical characteristics Reduce false positive detection rates while maintaining accurate threat identification Validate current product detections meet established performance and quality standards Respond to internal team questions about detection methodology and threat analysis outcomes Requirements Hands-on experience with malware reverse engineering and analysis Proficiency in Python and other programming or scripting languages Knowledge of binary file structure, including imports, exports, and packing methods Demonstrated research and analytical investigation capabilities Understanding of threat assessment and risk management frameworks Working familiarity with multiple operating systems Ability to decompose complex technical problems into logical, manageable components Proven experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance workflows, strengthen decision-making, and improve operational efficiency Working at Crowdstrike Crowdstrike is the global leader in cloud-native cybersecurity, protecting organizations worldwide with an AI-native platform processing nearly 3 trillion security events daily.
