The position is ideal for someone who can turn complex customs requirements into practical procedures that teams and suppliers can follow with confidence. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Lead customs and global freight compliance programmes so shipments meet relevant import, export and trade obligations Review and sign off shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and tariff classifications Advise colleagues on Incoterms, duty, valuation and restricted-goods rules for international freight Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers and carriers to clear holds, resolve delays and answer compliance queries Track regulatory changes that affect customs and freight, and refresh internal procedures and controls as needed Run compliance checks, risk reviews and corrective actions across the end-to-end freight and customs process Prepare clear updates for leadership on compliance status, issues and improvement opportunities Coach team members on documentation standards and global freight compliance expectations Qualifications Solid experience in customs compliance, global freight compliance or a closely related trade and logistics role Strong working knowledge of international shipping rules, customs procedures and freight documentation Ability to interpret regulations and apply them to real-world import and export situations Excellent communication and stakeholder skills when engaging brokers, carriers and internal teams Confidence driving process improvement and keeping accurate compliance records Organisational strength when juggling multiple international shipments and deadlines A careful, detail-led approach with sound judgement on risk and issue resolution Working at Sailgp Sailgp is hiring for this Customs & Global Freight Compliance Lead role and offers a supportive team environment.
