Join Edinburg CISD as a full-time Custodian supporting a prospective elementary school campus in Edinburg, Hidalgo County. This essential role keeps our school facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for students and staff throughout the school year. About the Role As a Custodian with Edinburg CISD's Maintenance & Operations Department, you'll be responsible for maintaining the daily cleanliness and appearance of school facilities. Working across a prospective elementary campus, you'll execute routine cleaning and maintenance procedures that directly impact the health and safety of our learning environment. You'll report to the school principal and work a full-time schedule spanning 261 days of the work year. What You'll Do Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and appropriate floor care treatments Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and surfaces Empty trash containers and manage waste removal throughout the campus Spot-clean high-traffic areas and address spills or debris promptly Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools safely Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistency Report maintenance issues or facility repairs to school leadership Support special cleaning needs for events and programs at the campus What We're Looking For Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and lift up to 50 pounds regularly Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean facilities Reliability and strong work ethic with consistent attendance Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemical handling Communication skills to coordinate with school staff Previous custodial or janitorial experience is beneficial Compensation & Employment Details This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position with a salary range of $15.25 to $19.32 per hour. You'll work a 261-day schedule aligned with the school year.
