Muskegon County is hiring a full-time Crisis Stabilization Specialist in Muskegon Heights, Muskegon County, to join a dedicated 24-hour mobile crisis response team that delivers compassionate, life-changing support when families need it most.

About the Role

As a Crisis Stabilization Specialist with Muskegon County, you will work under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Supervisor as part of an intensive crisis stabilization program. This on-site position supports both a warm line/helpline and a community-based response team, helping children and adolescents navigate behavioral health emergencies safely. First Shift and Second Shift options are available, giving you flexibility within a round-the-clock service model.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls and helpline contacts as a member of the 24-hour mobile crisis response team.
• Conduct risk evaluations to assess immediate safety needs for children, adolescents, and their families.
• Provide hands-on stabilization services in the community and through telephonic support.
• Collaborate with clinical staff and follow guidance from the Clinical Services Supervisor.
• Document interactions and contribute to coordinated, continuous care across shifts.

Qualifications

• A background in behavioral health, human services, social work, psychology, or a closely related field.
• Experience or training in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and empathetic in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills for working with youth, families, and team members.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts within a 24-hour coverage schedule.
