Crew Leader – Landscape Maintenance

Ruppert Landscape is hiring a full-time Crew Leader – Landscape Maintenance based out of Centre Hall, Centre County, PA — a hands-on leadership opportunity with one of the mid-Atlantic's most respected commercial landscaping companies.

About the Role

As a Crew Leader on the Landscape Maintenance team, you'll be the driving force behind daily field operations. You'll coordinate labor and materials to keep contract maintenance work running on schedule, while also taking ownership of snow removal responsibilities when the season demands it. Just as important as executing the work is developing the people around you — this role is as much about building a high-performing crew as it is about putting in great work on the ground.

What You'll Do

• Lead a crew of landscape technicians through daily maintenance operations, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, and site cleanup
• Allocate labor and materials efficiently to meet contract specifications and production targets
• Oversee snow and ice removal operations during winter months, directing crew members to ensure timely, safe service delivery
• Serve as the on-site point of contact, maintaining professional communication with clients and addressing service concerns proactively
• Train, coach, and mentor crew members — fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
• Conduct pre-shift safety briefings and enforce company safety policies and OSHA guidelines on every job site
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets Ruppert Landscape's quality standards before leaving each property
• Maintain and perform basic upkeep on equipment, flagging mechanical issues for prompt service

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in commercial or residential landscape maintenance
• Prior supervisory or lead experience, with the ability to motivate and direct a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Working knowledge of turf care, ornamental pruning, seasonal color, and related horticultural practices
• Ability to operate standard landscape equipment, including riding mowers, hand-held power tools, and crew vehicles
• Valid driver's license with a clean record; ability to drive a crew truck and trailer is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when interacting with property managers and clients
• Physical stamina to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required
