You'll be instrumental in creating the official record of court proceedings that form the foundation of the legal system. What You'll Do Operate stenotype machines and digital recording equipment to capture testimony and court proceedings with complete accuracy Produce real-time or transcript-delay transcripts for judges, attorneys, and court staff Manage transcript production timelines, meeting court deadlines and discovery requirements Maintain detailed notes and adhere to court rules, evidence protocols, and legal terminology standards Collaborate with judges, attorneys, and court personnel across multiple departments Ensure all recorded materials are properly indexed, stored, and made available to authorized parties Skills & Qualifications Professional court reporting certification or licensure as required by state Proficiency in stenotype or digital reporting methods with proven accuracy Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and judicial processes Ability to achieve and maintain high word-per-minute transcription speeds Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality Flexibility to work across multiple courtrooms and adapt to different judicial environments Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with court staff and legal professionals Working at Nuecesco Nuecesco is a trusted provider of court reporting and legal support services to judicial systems nationwide.
