About the Role

As a Counselor with The Family Place in Dallas, you will deliver healing-centered therapy and support to children and families who have experienced family violence. Working on-site at our Village location, you will apply evidence-based clinical approaches to guide survivors toward safety, stability, and lasting recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and family counseling to children and adults affected by domestic violence, using a healing-centered, trauma-informed approach.
• Apply evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's needs and stage of recovery.
• Support survivors in building the skills and confidence needed to move toward independence.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical documentation and case records in line with professional and program standards.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Foster a safe, supportive environment that advances The Family Place's mission to end family violence.

Qualifications

• Background in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Experience supporting children and families, ideally those affected by domestic violence.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
• A genuine commitment to serving survivors and advocating for social change.
