About the Role
The Activities Custodian is a year-round, on-site position with Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1 in Cortez, Colorado. In this role, you will support the upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and event spaces so that students and staff can focus on learning and growth in a clean, well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and shared areas
- Prepare and reset spaces for school activities, athletics, and community events
- Maintain building safety by reporting repairs and addressing hazards promptly
- Handle setup, breakdown, and cleanup tasks associated with district functions
- Support the district's mission of providing a welcoming, well-kept space for student success
Qualifications
- Reliability and a strong commitment to attendance, reflecting the district's "Every Student. Every Day." vision
- Ability to perform physical custodial tasks throughout a full shift
- Attention to detail and a focus on cleanliness and safety standards
- Willingness to work a year-round schedule, including support for activities and events
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
