Corrosion Supervisor

Essential Utilities is hiring a full-time Corrosion Supervisor in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, to lead corrosion control and pipeline integrity efforts for one of Western Pennsylvania's most established natural gas providers.

About the Role

As a Corrosion Supervisor with Essential Utilities, you will oversee the day-to-day corrosion control program that protects our natural gas distribution and transmission infrastructure across the Wilkinsburg and greater Allegheny County service area. This on-site leadership position blends hands-on technical expertise with team supervision, ensuring assets remain safe, compliant, and reliable for the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate cathodic protection activities, survey schedules, and corrosion mitigation projects.
• Supervise, train, and mentor corrosion technicians and field personnel.
• Monitor pipeline integrity data, interpret survey results, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all work aligns with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for inspections and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve corrosion-related issues.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in corrosion control, cathodic protection, or pipeline integrity within the utility, oil, or gas sector.
• Working knowledge of natural gas distribution systems and relevant safety and regulatory standards.
• Proven leadership or supervisory capabilities, with the ability to guide a field-based team.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting survey data and troubleshooting in the field.
• Availability to work on-site in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County (this is not a remote role).
