Clancy & Theys Construction Co is seeking a Corporate Safety/Risk Management Director to lead all safety and risk management initiatives from our West Raleigh, Raleigh headquarters. This full-time leadership role shapes how we build safely and sustainably across the organization. About the Role As Corporate Safety/Risk Management Director, you'll set the strategic direction for Clancy & Theys' safety culture, risk management framework, insurance programs, and claims administration. You'll report to senior leadership and oversee a team of divisional safety professionals while partnering directly with operations, project management, Human Resources, and the executive team to embed safety and accountability into every aspect of our work. What You'll Do Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and training programs that comply with OSHA and industry standards Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals across multiple divisions, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management Manage the organization's insurance portfolio, claims processes, and risk mitigation strategies to reduce exposure and losses Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations; identify root causes and drive corrective actions Partner with operations and project leaders to integrate safety planning into project delivery from bid through completion Track and analyze safety metrics, incident trends, and KPIs; report findings and recommendations to executive leadership Represent the company with insurance carriers, regulatory agencies, and industry safety organizations Foster a culture of safety accountability where all team members take ownership of risk reduction What We're Looking For 10+ years of safety and risk management experience in construction or heavy industrial environments Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, construction management, or related field Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CSSP (Construction Safety & Health Specialist) Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation, and safety best practices Proven ability to lead teams, influence at executive levels, and drive cultural change Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Experience managing insurance and claims processes About Clancy & Theys Construction Co Clancy & Theys Construction Co is a respected builder serving the Southeast.
