JRM Construction Management is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our New York City team and help safeguard the commercial integrity of high-profile general contracting and construction management projects.
About the Role
As a Contracts Manager based in New York City, New York, you will own the full contract lifecycle across JRM Construction Management's portfolio of public and private sector projects. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for a detail-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of legal precision, risk control, and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders throughout each project's duration.
- Track contractual obligations, deliverables, and key milestones to keep projects compliant and on schedule.
- Identify commercial and legal risks, then recommend terms and strategies that protect the firm's interests.
- Coordinate with project managers, estimators, legal counsel, owners, and subcontractors to resolve contract questions and disputes.
- Maintain accurate contract records, documentation, and reporting in line with company and client standards.
- Ensure agreements meet the requirements of municipal, state, and federal agencies as well as private clients.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing contracts within construction, general contracting, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of construction contract structures, terms, and standard industry documents.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and written communication abilities.
- Sharp attention to detail with the organizational skills to manage multiple agreements at once.
- Ability to work on-site in New York City and collaborate across project teams.
