This full-time position offers the opportunity to shape how one of the world's leading law firms manages legal conflicts with precision and efficiency. About the Role This leadership role centers on directing the day-to-day functions of our conflicts department while building and mentoring a skilled team of coordinators and analysts. You'll partner across Gibson Dunn's offices to ensure every conflict check meets our firm's exacting standards for accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. Reporting to the Manager of Intake and Conflicts, you'll cultivate a culture of operational excellence while remaining responsive to the dynamic needs of our attorneys and clients. We require that you maintain availability during business hours across the Pacific or Central time zones. Key Responsibilities Direct the daily workflow and activities of the conflicts team, including coordinators and analysts Coach team members on performance, progress, and professional development through regular feedback Oversee the conflict screening process to ensure reports are thorough, on schedule, and meet quality standards Serve as the primary escalation point for the team, addressing complex matters with sound judgment Review conflict research and reports, flagging intricate issues to senior attorneys and compliance leadership Establish and maintain quality assurance protocols that align conflict searches and documentation with firm standards Provide constructive feedback to team members when performance or deliverables need improvement Train new team members on departmental systems, procedures, and software platforms alongside the Senior Training Specialist Guide firm staff through the conflicts intake process, system navigation, and matter lifecycle Recommend and execute enhancements to departmental workflows and documentation Identify and report staffing or interpersonal issues to leadership for resolution Manage operational tasks including time tracking, leave requests, coverage planning, and performance reviews What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree (Master's degree, JD, or paralegal certification strongly preferred) Minimum six years in a legal conflicts or compliance role One to two years of supervisory, team leadership, or…
