University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is hiring a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to deliver on-site instruction in Computer Information Technology through UMGC Europe's Undergraduate School, based in Sigonella, Italy.
About the Role
As a CIT Adjunct Faculty member at the Sigonella location, you will bring real-world technology expertise into the classroom for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Computer Information Technology. This is an in-person, on-site teaching position — not a remote or hybrid arrangement — serving the UMGC Europe campus community in Sigonella.
What You'll Do
- Plan and deliver engaging undergraduate coursework in Computer Information Technology at the Sigonella, Italy instructional site
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences aligned with UMGC's Undergraduate School curriculum standards
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and assessments, providing timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate course records and comply with UMGC academic policies and reporting requirements
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that supports the diverse backgrounds of adult and military-affiliated students
- Collaborate with UMGC Europe program coordinators to ensure instructional consistency and quality
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Computer Information Technology or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university (required)
- Subject-matter expertise in core CIT areas such as networking, cybersecurity, database management, systems analysis, or programming
- Prior college-level teaching experience or demonstrated ability to translate technical knowledge into effective instruction
- Familiarity with the needs of adult learners, military service members, or students studying in an overseas environment is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional standards in a part-time academic role
- Ability to teach on-site at the Sigonella, Italy location as required
