Commercial Construction Site Engineer

HITT Contracting is hiring a full-time Commercial Construction Site Engineer in Washington, D.C., to help bring complex commercial building projects to life through our acclaimed HITT Futures Program.

About the Role

As a Commercial Construction Site Engineer based in Washington, D.C., you will be an essential part of the on-site project team, supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction work. This is a hands-on, full-time opportunity within the award-winning HITT Futures Program, designed to grow early-career talent into accomplished construction professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with daily site coordination and field engineering activities on commercial construction projects.
• Help track schedules, materials, and progress to keep work moving smoothly and safely.
• Support quality control efforts and verify that work aligns with drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and partners to solve problems on-site.
• Contribute to documentation, reporting, and communication across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Interest in or background relevant to commercial construction, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced jobsite environment.
• Solid communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Washington, D.C. (this position is not remote).
• A motivated mindset suited to the development-focused HITT Futures Program.
