Day in the role

As a Clinical Nurse in the operating room at BJC HealthCare, you would typically prepare rooms and sterile fields, count instruments and implants, assist the surgical team through cases, monitor patient status perioperatively, and hand off to recovery. Work centers on BJC’s high-acuity, academic-affiliated surgical environment rather than remote care.

Skills to emphasize

Strengthen perioperative nursing fundamentals: AORN standards, sterile technique, surgical counts, positioning, and specimen handling; familiarity with common OR specialties helps. CERTS lists no cert family or costed resources for this posting—confirm any preferred credentials (e.g., CNOR pathway) with BJC recruiters rather than assuming required packages.
