About the Role
As a Child Care Specialist with UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago, you will provide direct, individualized support to children living with developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs within our foster care program. Working from various locations in and around Cicero, you will help each child develop the daily living, social, and community skills outlined in their personal service plan, fostering independence and confidence every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver attentive, person-centered care to children with developmental disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Guide children in building daily living, interpersonal, and community-engagement skills.
- Follow each child's individualized service plan and document progress consistently.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that promotes growth and well-being.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and the foster care team to meet each child's goals.
Qualifications
- A genuine commitment to supporting children with disabilities and medical complexities.
- Dependability, patience, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate records.
- Comfort working across various locations as program needs require.
