Mercor is seeking a Chief Economist to author and review technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on economics problems, collaborate with AI research teams, and work independently with a flexible schedule.
Requirements
- PhD in Economics
- MS/MA in Economics with 3+ years applied, policy, or teaching experience
- BA/BS in Economics with 5+ years applied, industry, or research experience
- Working fluency in at least two of: micro, macro, econometrics, industrial organization, labor economics, development
- Comfortable interpreting economic charts, econometric output, policy figures, and time-series plots
- Clear technical writing skills with the ability to articulate reasoning step-by-step
