Mercor is seeking a Chemical Engineering Expert – Process Design to build a realistic digital workspace, design multi-step tasks, and collaborate with research teams. The ideal candidate has a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, 3+ years of experience in process design, simulation, or scale-up, and expertise in EH&S, emissions compliance, or sustainability engineering. Day-to-day use of CHEMKIN, Aspen Plus, ANSYS Fluent, Siemens Opcenter, or Rockwell FactoryTalk is required.
Requirements
- BS / MS / PhD in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience at a Fortune 500 chemical, petrochemical, or specialty-materials company.
- Background in process design, simulation, or scale-up.
- Experience in plant operations, operations engineering, or turnaround planning.
- Knowledge of process safety (PHA / HAZOP, PSM under 29 CFR 1910.119).
- R&D or product development experience.
- Expertise in EH&S, emissions compliance, or sustainability engineering.
- Day-to-day use of CHEMKIN / Aspen Plus, ANSYS Fluent / STAR-CCM+, and Siemens Opcenter or Rockwell FactoryTalk.
- Strong analytical thinking and writing skills.
