Sunrun is hiring a Certified Field Performance Technician to join our residential energy team across the US, helping homeowners get the most from their solar and battery systems through expert on-site service and support.
About the Role
As a Certified Field Performance Technician at Sunrun, you'll be the hands-on expert who keeps home solar and battery installations operating at peak performance. This is a full-time, field-based position in the US, ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems in person and delivering reliable service that customers can trust. You'll play a direct part in our mission to reshape how the world uses energy by putting clean, dependable power at the center of everyday life.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and service residential solar and battery storage systems on-site at customer homes.
- Diagnose performance issues and carry out repairs, replacements, and corrective maintenance.
- Verify that installed systems meet Sunrun's quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Document field findings, service activity, and system data accurately and completely.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, explaining work performed and answering questions with professionalism.
- Follow all electrical, workplace, and personal safety protocols on every job.
Qualifications
- Relevant certification or licensing for field service work on solar and/or electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing technical equipment, ideally within the residential energy or solar industry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently in the field.
- A safety-first mindset and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Customer-focused communication skills and a professional, dependable approach.
- Authorization to work in the US and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
