About the Role

As a Capacity Planning Consultant with The Hartford, you will drive data-informed workforce decisions that keep operations running efficiently and customer service levels consistently high. Working alongside operations leaders, you'll translate workload signals into actionable staffing strategies that support both near-term performance and long-range business goals.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain capacity models that forecast staffing needs across business units based on volume trends, handle times, and service targets
• Analyze historical workload data to identify patterns and surface recommendations for resource optimization
• Partner with operations managers to align headcount plans with budget constraints and strategic priorities
• Develop scenario analyses that prepare the organization for volume shifts, seasonal peaks, and business growth
• Produce clear, executive-ready reports and dashboards that communicate capacity risks and opportunities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and business line leaders to integrate workforce planning into broader organizational planning cycles
• Continuously evaluate planning methodologies and tools, recommending improvements where applicable

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in workforce management, capacity planning, or operations analytics — insurance or financial services background a plus
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in building forecasting models using tools such as Excel, SQL, or workforce management platforms
• Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working with large datasets and translating results into staffing recommendations
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and managing multiple planning horizons simultaneously
• Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building skills across functions and levels
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations, or a related field preferred
